Electronic Anesthesia Record (EAR)
The Electronic Anesthesia Record (EAR) is specialized software designed for anesthetists to use during surgical procedures. It allows anesthetists to record real-time events for patients undergoing either general or local anesthesia, ensuring accurate and efficient documentation throughout the surgical process.
Key Features and Benefits
Developed using the Java programming language, EAR is compatible with all Windows versions (XP, Vista) and macOS. The system saves records locally on the user’s computer, with the option to integrate with any database, such as MySQL, for secure and centralized storage.
The system boasts numerous features, but here are some of the standout ones:
Login Screen for Secure Access:
The login screen ensures secure access to the system, requiring valid credentials for each user.

One Screen for Quick Data Entry:
Once logged in, users are presented with all relevant information and fields on a single screen. This layout simplifies data entry, allowing anesthetists to complete the documentation in under 5 minutes for procedures that last up to two hours.
Preview and Edit Records:
During the procedure, users can preview the record and make any necessary corrections to ensure accuracy. Any errors can be easily corrected before finalizing the record.
All data is displayed in easy-to-read tables, or charts, for enhanced clarity.
Large Data Storage Capacity:
The system is capable of handling both short and long surgical procedures. It can efficiently store records for procedures lasting up to 18 hours, ensuring that even the most complex surgeries are documented seamlessly.
File and Database Integration:
After completing the documentation, users can click “Save all and Finish” to securely save the record. The data is saved in an HTML file on the user’s computer or, optionally, can be integrated with any chosen database for further storage and management.
